Biography
Born in Montreal, Christiane Roy set up her workshop in Sutton, in the Eastern Townships, more than twenty years ago.
A graduate from the Université du Québec à Montréal, she learned the technique of etching in the workshop of Janine Leroux-Guillaume. From 1979 to 1981, she worked as an apprentice in Montauban, France, under the supervision of Marc Dautry, who taught her burin engraving, which has since remained her favourite technique.
She has participated in several exhibitions and biennales in various countries, including France, the United States, Japan, Spain, and of course Canada. Every July, she takes part in the collective art exhibition called “Tour des arts” during which her workshop is open to the public.
